12 DAYS OF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

If you follow my social media on Facebook or Instagram, then you probably saw the 13 Days of Halloween photography challenge I did in October of 2020. Despite it being one of the most difficult photog challenges I've ever done, it was such a good time that I started brainstorming other series I could do. So, this May I'll be recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month by posting one photo each day of the last thirteen days of May that focuses on one mental or behavioral health issue.

I don't want to do this alone though because my experience with mental illness is by far not the only interpretation or perspective of mental or behavioral illness. That's where you come in. I'll be using the information garnered in this form to help me create a vision for each photograph along with the caption that will give further awareness and understanding of the photograph's topic for that day.

This is something so important and special to me and I'm stoked to be able to give it the time and attention it deserves as I prepare these photographs over the next four months.

FOR THE LONGEST TIME, I THOUGHT THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD PULL OFF BEING A "CONTENT CREATOR" AS A REAL AND LEGITIMATE JOB.

NOT BECAUSE I DON'T THINK IT'S A REAL JOB...BUT BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WASN'T A TRUE ENOUGH CREATOR TO OWN THAT TITLE AND MARKET MYSELF THAT WAY.

"I don't want to take this life for granted.
I want to feel it with my palms and the soles of my feet.
I want the dirt of experience underneath my fingernails,
the sweat of cultures dripping down my spine,
and the ache of acts of kindness in my joints."
